Neapolis University Pafos establishes NUP Human Rights Observatory

Neapolis University Pafos has announced the establishment of the NUP Human Rights Observatory, a scientific body dedicated to the monitoring, analysis and defence of human rights in Cyprus and the European Union.

The NUP Human Rights Observatory will operate as a documentation and research centre, with the aim of systematically evaluating legislation, case law and implemented policies. At the same time, it will seek to improve the institutional framework, responding to contemporary challenges and developments.

Key axes of the Observatory's action include the systematic monitoring of developments in the field of human rights, the analysis and evaluation of national and European regulations, the strengthening of interdisciplinary research through collaborations with academic and research centres, as well as the promotion of public dialogue, enhancing the participation of civil society in the formulation of human rights policies.

Through this initiative, Neapolis University Pafos confirms its long-standing commitment to the defence of human rights, offering scientifically documented proposals and interventions that strengthen the rule of law and democracy, a press release from the university noted.
