American Medical Center to construct multi-purpose medical tower as part of Nicosia expansion

The American Medical Center (AMC) / American Heart Institute (AHI) will construct a multi-purpose medical tower as part of its expansion in Nicosia.

“In response to the demands of modern medical science and with deep respect for the public’s longstanding trust—which has consistently placed the centre at the forefront—AMC is expanding its facilities, always keeping the patient at the center of its efforts and ensuring the highest quality of medical services,” a relevant announcement said.

On the multi-purpose medical tower specifically, AMC elaborated that the new structure would be connected to the existing buildings through skybridges and underground corridors, “ensuring seamless access for patients, medical personnel, and nursing staff."

"The new facilities will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology, offering the most advanced medical, diagnostic, and therapeutic services,” AMC added.

There will also be an expansion of existing facilities including the construction of a fully equipped auditorium with a capacity of 300 seats. “This space will be used for medical seminars, concerts, and lectures of general public interest,” the announcement said.

AMC also pointed out that the new facilities will, in addition, serve as a model for the utilisation of renewable energy sources, potentially becoming a subject of academic study for postgraduate students in related fields.

The American Medical Center currently serves over 120,000 patients and performs more than 4,500 surgeries annually.

It features 80 hospital beds, eight operating theaters, cutting-edge diagnostic infrastructure, and a helipad, while employing a team of specialised medical, paramedical, scientific, and administrative staff.
