Conference to look at key trends shaping the holiday home market in the Mediterranean
12:05 - 27 February 2025

The 19th Property Development & Construction Conference & Exhibition, which will be held on Thursday, 20 March 2025, at the Hilton Nicosia Hotel, will delve – among other - into the trends shaping the holiday home market in the Mediterranean.
During the conference, Anastasia Yianni, CEO of Cyprus Sotheby’s International Realty, will analyse the trends shaping this market, focusing on the countries with the highest demand and the factors influencing investment decisions.
The Mediterranean has long been one of the worlds’ most attractive destinations, combining natural beauty, a rich cultural heritage and a lifestyle that captivates visitors from all over the world. The region’s favourable climate, stunning coastlines, and the unique atmosphere exuded by the Mediterranean countries, make it an ideal destination not only for holidays but also for permanent or seasonal residence.
In recent years, the demand for holiday homes in Mediterranean markets has soared, with both investors and private buyers opting to acquire their own seaside property.
Whether it is luxurious villas with unobstructed views, or traditional stone houses that exude authenticity, the Mediterranean real estate market continues to attract interest, with its timeless charm remaining unchanged over time.
Anastasia Yianni will present data on buyer profiles, examining which markets generate the highest demand and what drives them to invest in properties in the region. With an emphasis on the proactive engagement of international investors, she will highlight their preferences and selection criteria, as well as the differences among the markets that are leading in the holiday home sector.
Through a comparative analysis of the Spanish, Portuguese, Northern French, Italian, Greek and Cypriot markets, she will highlight the distinctive features and the advantages of each destination. The CEO’s presentation will shed light on the trends that will shape the next decade, focusing on the opportunities and the challenges that local real estate markets are facing.
From tax and regulatory reforms, to the buyers’ diverse preferences, the conversation will offer valuable knowledge to everyone who is active or is interested in investing in the Mediterranean real estate sector.
