Academy of Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) celebrates graduation of class of 2024
11:11 - 03 February 2025
CyprusInno, powered by SocialTech Lab, has announced the conclusion of the 2024 Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) in Cyprus.
As noted in a relevant announcement, the programme, supported for the second year by the U.S. Embassy Nicosia, and this year also with the support of Chevron, offered free training to women entrepreneurs to launch new ventures or scale existing businesses.
The 40+ graduates of the 2024 AWE class benefitted from customized in-person mentoring and facilitated training at The Base by CyprusInno through the DreamBuilder online platform, covering core business skills such as strategic planning, marketing, financial management, pitching, and more.
During the programme, participants connected to a supportive community of entrepreneurs, drawing inspiration from successful leaders, and receiving targeted mentorship from both industry experts and 2023 alumnae.
They enhanced their business skills through dynamic workshops, pitching sessions, networking events, site visits to women-owned businesses, and industry gatherings.
The programme also included personal development activities which further contributed to their entrepreneurial growth.
“Participating in the AWE entrepreneurship programme has been an incredibly transformative experience for me. The opportunity to connect with fellow women entrepreneurs fostered a strong sense of community. Sharing our dreams, challenges and solutions was not only inspiring but also deeply reassuring. Reflecting on my own journey, I’ve come to appreciate how far I’ve come as a woman entrepreneur and how much I’ve achieved,” said graduate Marianna Karavali.
Graduate Ileana Christoforou praised AWE as “an empowering experience that provided invaluable mentorship, practical business strategies, and a supportive network.” She stressed how the programme enhanced her confidence and provided her with essential tools to effectively drive her business growth.
Graduates received their certificates from the United States Ambassador to Cyprus, Julie Davis Fisher, and Cyprus Finance Manager at Chevron, Melina Demetriou, during a graduation ceremony held at The Base by CyprusInno in Nicosia.
CyprusInno expresses its gratitude to all participants, trainers, mentors, speakers, and supporters, the U.S. Embassy Nicosia and Chevron, for their contributions to the success of the second cycle of the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs in Cyprus.
CyprusInno remains committed to fostering continuous learning, collaboration, and innovation for women within the entrepreneurship ecosystem.
