IMF officials conclude visit with press conference

A delegation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) currently in Cyprus, will present its main findings from its visit at a press conference in Nicosia.

A press release by the Ministry of Finance said the IMF mission, led by Alex Pienkowski, is visiting Cyprus from 21-28 March, 2025, under Article IV.

The mission, it is reported, will hold a press conference on Friday, 28 March, 2025, at 11.45am, at the Ministry of Finance, where it will present the main findings from the visit ahead of the release of the "Cyprus: Staff Concluding Statement of the 2025 Article IV Mission".

According to Article IV of its Articles of Agreement, the IMF is mandated to oversee the economic, financial, and exchange rate policies of its members to ensure the effective functioning of the international monetary system.
