AEGEAN and Hermes Airports celebrate launch of new direct Larnaca – Rome flight

With a special event at Glafcos Clerides Larnaka International Airport, AEGEAN, in collaboration with Hermes Airports , celebrated the launch of the new direct Larnaca - Rome flight, which now directly connects the island of Cyprus with Rome and the Leonardo Da Vinci - Fiumicino International Airport.
The route is operating every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday throughout the summer season of 2025 with the first flights recording satisfactory occupancy , while the company's intention is to maintain the route in the winter.
The direct connection to Rome offers passengers greater flexibility and access to another top European destination with the reliability and quality of service that characterise the airline, while further strengthening AEGEAN's position in the Cypriot market. Through strategic investments and continuous upgrading of its services, AEGEAN confirms its commitment to substantially strengthen the connectivity of Cyprus, enhancing the island's interconnection with important destinations and creating new travel opportunities.

The event was attended, in addition to the passengers of the flight that departed shortly after noon for Rome, by tour operators, representatives of tourism institutions, and associates of AEGEAN and Hermes. Airports and media representatives, who had the opportunity to be informed about the importance of this new connection between Cyprus and Italy.
During the event, Marina Spyridaki, Corporate Affairs Director, AEGEAN, stated, "We are extremely happy about the launch of this new direct air connection, which AEGEAN will now offer to the Cypriot public, as well as to foreign visitors to the island. In her greeting at the event, Maria Kouroupi, Director of Aviation Development, Marketing and Communication, Hermes Airports , noted, " We are delighted to officially launch a route that we are sure will resonate with the passenger public. The new route between Larnaca and Rome adds to the options of direct flights to popular destinations. In collaboration with reliable partners such as AEGEAN, we continue to increase Cyprus' connectivity options as we target new opportunities that present high tourist and business interest."
It is noted that for 2025, AEGEAN plans to increase capacity by 22% compared to the previous year, offering 1.4 million seats in total to/from Cyprus, ensuring the island's connectivity , both through direct scheduled and charter flight connections, and through the hubs of Athens, which serves with up to seven daily flights, and Thessaloniki, which serves with up to 11 weekly flights respectively, to and from Larnaca. With the restart of the Larnaca - Tel Aviv route with up to two direct flights on a daily basis and the addition of the new Larnaca - Rome route with 3 weekly flights, Cyprus gains a direct connection with two international destinations.

Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, departure from Larnaca 16:05 (local), arrival in Rome 18:35 (local) and Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday departure from Rome 19:30 (local), arrival in Larnaca 23:40 (local).
