FEM Camp in Cyprus: Where girls found their voice, confidence, and the power to lead
Press Release 09:19 - 28 April 2025

The first FEM Camp, organised by the Kateryna Biloruska Foundation, recently brought together 19 girls – 9 from Cyprus and 10 from Ukraine for a life-changing week of self-discovery, learning, and sisterhood.
Held in Limassol from 12 to 19 April, the camp offered a unique experience for teenage girls to find their voice, speak up, and lead with confidence.

Part of the larger Future Empowered Minds program (FEM Program), the camp aimed to inspire and equip teenage girls aged 14–17 with the skills, confidence, and mindset to become the leaders of tomorrow in collaboration with the legendary Paralympic champion Karolina Pelendritou, Marina Armefti – the wife of the Mayor of Limassol and others famous women who leads in Cyprus.

The program blended powerful workshops with real-life experiences. The schedule was a healthy balance of learning and fun – from sports and tennis to beach time and pool games.

Every day started with morning yoga, setting a peaceful tone before diving into an intense yet empowering program. The girls learned from mentors and facilitators who guided them through topics like:
● leadership,
● communication and teamwork,
● goals-setting,
● emotional intelligence,
● etiquette,
● financial literacy,
● nutrition,
● sport and many more.
Licensed psychologists also worked with the participants, helping them build resilience and self-awareness.
“I believe we must create spaces where young girls are not just listened to, but truly heard. FEM Camp gave them tools to believe in themselves and take bold steps forward,” said Kateryna Biloruska, founder of the Kateryna Biloruska Foundation.

A special highlight of the camp was an inspiring meeting with a multiple-time Paralympic champion and world record holder Karolina Pelendritou, who’s known across the world as the “Princess of the Pool.” She shared her story of overcoming obstacles, strength, and rising above limitations. Her powerful message about believing in oneself and pushing boundaries left a deep impression on everyone in the room.
“Leadership is about resilience, confidence, and believing in yourself despite challenges. I am thrilled to be part of FEM Camp and help young girls unlock their true potential,” said Karolina Pelendritou.
In addition to workshops and training, the girls bonded through daily tennis classes, beach games, and poolside activities. They also explored Cyprus through group visits to Kourion, the Limassol Zoo, and the Paradox Museum – discovering not only the island, but themselves.

Marina Armefti, wife of the Mayor of Limassol, attended the camp and shared her thoughts, “We want to warmly thank Kateryna Biloruska Foundation for organizing such an inspiring event. I'm sure FEM Camp has given valuable tools that will last forever. What you have experienced here is more than just a camp. It's the beginning of a journey. And I hope it has inspired you to dream bigger, to speak louder and support one another with strength and kindness.”
One of the participants shared, “I came here shy and unsure. I’m leaving with a group of new sisters, a louder voice, and dreams that finally feel possible.”

FEM Camp was not just a leadership program – it was a movement. A movement that began with a group of teenage girls, ready to lead the future. A space where young minds were empowered, where leadership was redefined, and where a group of girls from different countries discovered that the future is already in their hands.
The Kateryna Biloruska Foundation is dedicated to supporting youth through fostering educational initiatives, promoting mental well-being, and leadership programs. By investing in young girls today, the Foundation aims to create a more inclusive and empowered society.
