A new significant addition is expected soon at the Mall of Cyprus, as Kiabi is feverishly preparing for the opening of its large new store in Nicosia.
This will be the second store in the capital city and the fourth nationwide, following the opening of the first store in Cyprus, at Metropolis Mall, in Larnaca in 2021, the second at Neon Mall, in Paphos in 2023 and the third at Mall of Engomi in June 2024.
The enrichment of Kiabi's presence in Nicosia and the arrival at the Mall of Cyprus is part of the well-known brand's expansion plan in the Cypriot market, with the opening of new stores within the next one to two years.
For about a month now, the company has been in the process of searching for personnel to staff the new store in positions such as team leader, store manager, assistant store manager and sales assistants.
Filling the K Cineplex gap and a new chapter at the mall
The Mall of Cyprus recently announced that "Something BIG is coming to the first floor of the Mall of Cyprus", bringing "more fun, more fashion, and definitely more for families."

The new opening will be located right next to Players Arcade, occupying part of the space that housed the K-Cineplex cinema, which completed its presence in the Atterbury shopping centre on 21 July, 2024.
The Mall of Cyprus had announced, last July, the arrival of new brands and fashion stores, the development of new entertainment and entertainment venues, as well as continuous improvements to the shopping centre's facilities, as after completing the collaboration with K-Cineplex, the Mall was in the process of searching for tenants the would fill the admittedly large void that had been created.

Moreover, in a recent announcement on its website, Atterbury explains that, while the departure of the K-Cineplex cinema marked the end of an era, it also paves the way for a bold new chapter, with an improved entertainment offering and family fashion.
“Across the globe, the cinema industry has faced challenges posed by streaming platforms, changing viewer habits and, more recently, strikes in Hollywood. Rather than viewing the cinema’s closure at the Mall of Cyprus as a loss, we see this as an opportunity to reimagine our entertainment and retail mix,” the company notes.
In 2024, Mall of Cyprus' financial performance demonstrated resilience and adaptability to various market conditions, while recording profitability and revenue growth.
Despite facing challenges, such as inflationary pressures stemming from geopolitical tensions, the Mall has shown remarkable growth, with turnover growth reaching 8% during 2024, and with vacancy approaching 0%.
Strengthening Kiabi's presence in Nicosia - also plans for Limassol
It is recalled that in an interview with InBusinessNews last December, Kiabi's Group Brand Manager for Malta, Cyprus and Greece, Annita Marnerou, stated that Kiabi's next openings in the Cypriot market will focus on areas with high commercial traffic and consumer concentration, noting that there may be new stores in the Limassol and Nicosia areas within the next two years.
“Kiabi’s next openings in Cyprus will focus on areas with high commercial traffic and consumer concentration. We are looking at areas such as Nicosia and Limassol, where the demand for stores offering clothes for the whole family at affordable prices is growing.
"There may be new stores in the Limassol and Nicosia areas in the next one to two years, with the aim of covering a larger geographical area of Cyprus," Marnerou had noted.

The strategy for presence in shopping malls reflects Kiabi's desire to be close to consumers and offer a comfortable, enjoyable shopping experience.
Malls are ideal plocations for the operation of Kiabi stores, as they offer a series of advantages for both consumers and the company.
Kiabi joined forces with Hudson Cyprus Ltd through a partnership that began in 2021, with the first store in the Cypriot market, aiming to facilitate Cypriot families and become the leading brand at the forefront of affordable fashion for the whole family.
Hudson Cyprus, as a member of the Hudson Group, the Maltese parent company, introduced the concept of affordable fashion for the whole family to the Cypriot market.
The Kiabi venture’s mission is to offer Cypriot consumers a combination of quality and affordable fashion, covering the needs of all family members, from children to adults.
