'Preboarding Zen Mode' programme returns to Cyprus’ airports
07:10 - 07 April 2025

Hermes Airports’ innovative initiative to relax anxious travelers through the 'Preboarding Zen Mode' programme’s use of friendly, specially-trained dogs at the departure gates is continuing with great success at Cyprus’ airports.
From the very first days of its implementation last year, it seemed that the presence of trained dogs alone was enough to completely transform the passengers’ travel experience.
Almost no one remains unmoved at the sight of them, with many travelers stopping at the departure gates of Larnaka Airport to meet and pet the dogs, enjoying moments of relaxation before their flight. So, after a short break, these four-legged members of the aviation community have returned to the airport.
Meet Lyka, one of the dogs that can be found at Larnaka Airport once a week:

Passenger Gratitude
The initiative is part of Hermes Airports’ sustainability and social responsibility strategy, aiming to provide comfort to passengers and create a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere at the airport. The public response exceeded all expectations, with many passengers expressing their gratitude for this move, which transformed the airport into a more welcoming and humane space.
At the same time, the programme highlights the importance of animal adoption, raising awareness among the public about dogs in shelters who are looking for affection and can become the best companions.
Through this action, Hermes Airports proves that the travel experience can be made more pleasant and warm, incorporating initiatives that offer innovative and humane experiences to travelers while supporting important social actions.
